FEE Blue Flag 2019

The Blue Flag 2019 has been conferred to Marina di Portisco.

For 23 Years the structure has been at the forefront of environmental safety.

Portisco, May 10th 2019: once again Marina di Portisco has achieved the Blue Flag that it has received every year since 1996.

This coveted Blue Flag award officially decrees the concrete commitment together with the professionalism of the Marina di Portisco staff in the sustainable management of the Marina and its attention to sustainability issues as demonstrated by the numerous initiatives in environmental protection undertaken throughout these years.

The Blue Flag is the international recognition for excellence in the management of environmental issues with particular reference to the preservation of the marine ecosystem. It is assigned every year on the basis of an in-depth analysis that examines the parameters dictated by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education - Foundation for Environmental Education), founded in 1981, relating to the quality of the water, to environmental management, services and safety of marinas and environmental awareness of this area.

Together with other aspects that are part of the survey there are those related to the matter of sustainable management of the structure: environmental certification, water purification, differentiated waste collection, environmental initiatives in port and in the territory and those on management of tourist flow.

Daniele Pace, managing director of Marina di Portisco notes that: “the Blue Flag is the result of continuous work and a precise commitment to environmental issues that are increasingly critical and important. For us it is not simply a recognition that gratifies us, but the confirmation that we are operating with continuity, professionalism and respect for the environmental and for the benefit of our territory and of welcoming our guests.
